If you get an error, then ANSVR is not starting correctly. If you see a config page, you should be good from the perspective of the server loading correctly. You do need 1 image that you can use to solve against. Then troubleshooting this is easy, and does not even require a clear night. First you should just make sure you are on the latest version of it.

I'd be more than happy to share any solved/unsolved images for comparison.ĭan I have had this happen with ANSVR. I haven't yet tried to solve the good and bad images using the online version of astrometry to see if there is any correlation. If I start imaging too early in the evening or on weekends when the light pollution tends to be worse or try to solve images in areas of the sky that tend to not have larger magnitude stars I can almost expect to have problems. Mainly the solved images have several prominent stars and a relatively dark background. There is, however, a visible difference between those that solved and those that didn't.

I'm imaging through an FSQ-106 with a full frame Nikon so the images are quite large but will solve quickly (12-15 sec) by downscaling by a factor of 2. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the program not being able to recognize enough bright stars in the field to match with the database files. This is a fairly common occurrence for me using Astrotortilla which also solves locally using with or without internet access.
